“We are very pleased with our new second-story addition designed and built by Semia Renovations. We now have a large view room with a fireplace and oversized slider onto a newly rebuilt roof deck. This was a major project that involved significant engineering work downstairs to support the new upstairs structure, plus a number of "surprises" such as hidden water damage to deal with. Kevin Ryan the owner is a very efficient project manager. We appreciated his responsive communication style, his problem-solving skills, and his expertise in dealing with complex structural issues. There were no significant delays due to labor or material shortages, and the project was completed in the expected timeframe. You get what you pay for, and we got a very high-quality home renovation.”

“We live in Semiahmoo and Kevin and his crew did several projects for us between 2020 and 2022. We had a significant remodel done on our master bathroom, which entailed moving walls, enlarging the shower, installing a free-standing tub, retiling, painting, new fixtures and lighting. Semia also had our living room floor to ceiling windows replaced, decking repaired and/or replaced, and guest bathroom remodeled. “We contracted Keven with Semia Renovations to complete a full kitchen remodel in our 1992 condo. From initial contact with Kevin to the completion of the project was about 6 months. The actual work in our home took about 5 weeks. This was an extensive project requiring removal of a load baring wall, communication/coordination with the homeowner’s association and the city for all the permitting and approvals. Kevin is very organized, is clear and timely with all communication. He completed the permitting process thoroughly and with efficiency. We were new to the area and he was able to provide recommendations for local vendors. He and his team arrived when they said, worked efficiently and cleaned up at the end of each day. All of his team were courteous and respectful of our home. Each person appeared highly skilled and demonstrated expertise in their area. We have been very pleased with the outcome. Our kitchen has exceeded our expectations. We do not have any regrets or complaints. We would definitely use Semia Renovations again and would recommend them to others.”

Complete Kitchen Remodel with Removal of Load-Bearing Wall
“We have used Semia Renovations since moving to Blaine. The first project was a trail restoration project to regain access to our beach. The second and more extensive project was a very involved drainage project along the side of our home. Kevin held our hands and guided us along every step of each project, explaining everything in detail, coordinating contractors and setting up equipment. Kevin and his team also worked with the county and other governmental agencies to procure the correct permitting, inspections and completed final walk throughs at project completions. Kevin is very detailed oriented and goal minded and honest about potential delays or project cost changes, communicating each along the way. If cheap is what you’re looking for, Semia Renovations probably isn’t going to be for you but if you’re looking to get it done good and get it done right the first time and have contractors show up when they’re supposed to and have a GC who is always in communication with you, then you can’t go wrong by hiring Kevin and his team.”

“Semia Renovations completed two major projects for us in Birch Bay Village. The first was a complete kitchen remodel in 2021 and the second was converting our carport to a garage in 2022 (a bigger project than it sounds like!). We are very satisfied with both of these projects: they came in on budget and were completed within the projected time frame (with one exception that was due to supply chain issues). Kevin is personable, knowledgeable, and very responsive. Emails and/or texts were responded to immediately. Even after the projects were complete he continued to be very responsive when we had questions or if we had an issue—it was dealt with immediately. His teams were professional and experienced. Although we are hopeful that our major projects are complete we wouldn’t hesitate to turn to Semia Renovations if we have future needs!”
